How accessible this directory is, what we are still working on, and how to tell us about a barrier. Last updated 5 August 2026.
1. Our commitment
NE26 Limited is committed to making LegalDirectory.org.uk usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, magnification, speech input or keyboard-only navigation. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at level AA.
2. What we do
- Semantic HTML with a single H1 and a logical heading order on every page.
- Keyboard access to all interactive controls, with visible focus styles.
- Colour contrast checked against WCAG AA for body text and interface controls.
- Descriptive link text, form labels and alternative text for meaningful images.
- Responsive layouts that reflow at 320px width and support 200% text resizing.
- Accessible names and states on menus, dialogs, filters and the cookie banner.
3. Known limitations
Some third-party components - including the Stripe checkout and billing portal, and embedded review widgets - are outside our direct control and may not fully meet AA. Long data tables of firm results can be demanding to navigate with a screen reader; we are continuing to improve their structure and announcements.
4. Reporting a problem
If you find a barrier, email hello@legaldirectory.org.uk with the page address and a description of the problem, and tell us what assistive technology you use. We acknowledge within 2 working days and aim to fix confirmed issues within 20 working days, or offer the information in an alternative format in the meantime.
5. Enforcement
We are a private-sector service and are not covered by the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018, but we take our duties under the Equality Act 2010 seriously and will make reasonable adjustments on request.
